She/her
I am in the final stages of completing my PhD in Clinical Psychology at York University and I have completed my training in therapy, assessment, and providing case consultation and supervision at York University. Additionally, I have also completed my clinical training at the Adult Eating Disorders Program and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board Program at North York General Hospital, the Anxiety Treatment and Research Clinic at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, and at the York University Psychology Clinic in North York. Across these settings, I have worked with emerging adults and adults from diverse socio-demographic backgrounds who present with a wide range of concerns and unique life experiences.
Approach to Therapy
My approach to therapy is person-centred, humanistic, and integrative. I firmly believe in the importance of cultivating and maintaining a strong alliance with each of my clients, as well as establishing a non-judgmental and compassionate space for clients to explore and process their experiences, emotions, values, and thoughts. In my therapeutic practice, I draw on Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and I tailor my approach based on each client’s needs and goals. At the heart of each modality, I practice with an unwavering foundation of respect and empathy, as well as with a spirit of curiosity and collaboration. I seek to engage in important aspects of clients’ lives, such as their cultural frame of reference and experiences, and with a deep appreciation for their values. My broad clinical goals for clients are for them to feel heard and valued and to experience a safe space to express and explore their concerns while working toward meaningful change and development.
